International Shipping for Kubo: What You Need to Know

Do I have to pay import duties?

All Kubo machines are shipped from Spain. This means:

  • Within the EU: No import duties apply. Only local VAT.

  • Outside the EU: Import duties and taxes may apply when your shipment arrives in your country.

By separating the physical machine from the digital app, we can help reduce the import cost for you.

Updated Customs Invoice

It’s important to note that import duties only apply to physical goods that enter your country.

  • Kubo machine + accessories: considered physical goods → subject to import duties and taxes.
  • Kubo app (digital license): delivered electronically → usually not subject to import duties.

This way, the cost of import is significantly lower, while you still get full access to all features once the app connects to your Kubo machine.

Example

Order total: €1,220

ItemValueImport Duties?
Kubo machine + accessories€600Yes
Kubo App (digital)€620Usually No

If the import duty in your country is 20%:

  • Before: €1,220 × 20% = €244

  • Now: €600 × 20% = €120

Your digital app license is not taxed, reducing the total import cost.

Important Notes

  • Not all countries treat digital goods the same way; experiences may vary.

  • Import duties are calculated based on the physical goods only.

  • Local taxes (VAT, GST, etc.) may still apply depending on your country.

  • Shipping costs are added separately and may affect the total import calculation.

In Summary

  1. Orders within the EU → no import duties, only VAT.

  2. Orders outside the EU → duties only apply to the machine and accessories.

  3. Digital app features → usually not subject to import duties, saving you money.

This ensures you enjoy your Kubo without surprises and pay only what’s necessary when it arrives.
